Matt Elton

Matt Elton is one of the world’s leading RegTech strategists, with more than 20 years of international experience in the interaction of Business and Technology. He has worked in a wide variety of environments with some of the largest companies in the world, as well as assisting smaller companies to grow and achieve their ambitious growth aspirations.

Matt began working in the field of Digital Transformation in the mid 1990s, and quickly discovered that to be successful in embracing the digital opportunity, and more importantly, digital customers, a relationship of trust is essential; this means embracing – not fighting – regulatory rules and obligations, along with security and data privacy. Today, Matt has become widely known as a leader in RegTech strategy, helping firms to define how best to integrate RegTech into their core business processes.

Matt has delivered real results for financial services companies and the public sector, driving innovation in banking, payments, clearing, and settlement organisations. Through his deep understanding of the value chain, Matt has the imagination to link technology and solutions to create real business results. Matt is focused on monetising digital opportunities, actively leading the transformation of regulatory compliance: lowering costs, increasing margin, increasing profitability, turning a cost centre into a revenue centre.

Matt is Vice-Chair and member of the board at the International RegTech Association, headquartered in Zurich and is the Co-Founder of the Canadian RegTech Assocation, headquartered in Toronto. Matt also acts as business advisor to a number of RegTech firms globally, assisting them to achieve their growth aspirations.

Matt is a regular speaker and influencer on the future of the RegTech industry, and has spoken across the world on how firms can use RegTech to unlock real value in their organisations.
